Woodrow George Bolen, Sr., 90, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Mark Twain Caring Center. Mr. Bolen was born October 2, 1917 in Truman, Ark. He was a mill worker for Himmelberger-Harrison in Morehouse from Dec. 5, 1945 until his retirement. Mr. Bolen was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston and enjoyed fishing. He was also a Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Bolen was a volunteer for the Morehouse Fire Department for 20 years.
Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Olline Ollie (Becker) Bolen, whom he married Feb 25, 1939 in Risco, Mo.
Also surviving are 6 children, Gary Bolen of St. Charles, Mo., Jerry Bolen of Huntsville, Ala., Larry Bolen of Nixa, Mo., Linda Haley of Burbank, Cal., Mike Bolen of Sikeston, Mo., and Woody Bolen of Poplar Bluff; 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Bro. Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will full military honors will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
