Winfred Leonard Ross

Winfred Leonard Ross, 87, of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Ross was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Piedmont. He retired after 20 years as a welder for Engel Industries, in St. Louis. Mr. Ross was a member of Little Brushy Church, at Wappapello and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and hunting, fishing and camping.

On Nov. 16, 1996, he married Mildred S. Warden, at Greenville. She survives.

Other survivors include a stepson, Butch Clifton, of Perryville; 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Engle, of Williamsburg, NM; and a brother, Johnnie Ross, of St. Charles.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Little Brushy Church, in Wappapello with the Rev. Amos Dees officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
