Willie James Norman

Willie James Norman, 74, of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at the residence of his son.

Mr. Norman was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Broseley. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church, in Broseley and a retired mechanic for the Bill Childress Chevrolet Co. Mr. Norman enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

On Aug. 22, 1964, he married Lorene Grey, in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanetta Robinson and Barbara Currie, both of Poplar Bluff; three sons, Gordon Gipson and Mark Steven Norman, both of Poplar Bluff and Gayle Currie, of Calif.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Ivory Dean officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
