Wayne J. Henson, 77, of Poplar Bluff, died September 1, 2007 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Henson was born April 19, 1930 in Steele, Mo. to the late William Wayne and Minnie D. (Daniels) Henson. He was retired from Kings Farm Center as a truck driver. Mr. Henson attended the Little Brown Chapel Church and enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
On August 7, 1954 he married Ruby Wheeling in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Janice West and husband James of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Dewayne Henson of Poplar Bluff and Ronald David Henson and wife Amy of Poplar Bluff; 6 grandchildren, Eric West, Amy West, Jennifer West, Kevin Henson, Jeffrey Harmon and Rachel Henson; and 2 great grandchildren, Brendon Harmon and Logan Harmon; a brother-in-law Hollis South of Poplar Bluff, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Henson was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dudley Henson, J. B. Henson and Hershel Henson and three sisters, Annie Fowler, Vera South and Hazel Yarboro.
Visitation will be at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Willis Smith officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the City Cemetery.
