Wanda Lee (Gambill) Gaebler

Wanda Lee Gaebler, 87, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away on December 24, 2023.

Wanda was born on January 14, 1936, to Vernon and Aleen (Everett) Gambill in Ash Hill, Missouri. She married Dale Gaebler on April 20, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Wanda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She and her husband owned and operated Gaebler’s Service Station for 35 years. Wanda was a member of the Altrusa, as well as the AMVETS Auxiliary, Post #29. She was also a local Girl Scout Leader for many years. Wanda was very active in the community and liked serving others. Wanda was an avid Poplar Bluff Mules fan, especially when it came to Lady Mules basketball. Her greatest joys in life were having "lunch with the girls" every Friday and spending time with her grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by two children, Tim (Cindy) Gaebler and Anita Cates; five grandchildren, David, Colter (Shelly), and Alex Gaebler, Payton and Brileigh Cates.

Wanda was preceded in death by husband, Dale Gaebler and brother, Butch Gambill.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at noon with Reverend Justin Sponaugle officiating. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
