Virginia Louise Jehnzen

February 2, 1925 — November 11, 2007

Virginia Louise Jehnzen, 82, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at Poplar Bluff Regional Service.

Miss Jehnzen was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Detroit, Mich. She was a member of First Church of God, in Poplar Bluff, and began her working career as a Registered Nurse, in Pontiac, Mich. Four years later she began a career with TWA Airlines as a stewardess. Miss Jehnzen then became manager of the Airline Hostess Depart. which she held for 20 years, managing three domiciles in Detroit, New York City, and Boston. She then returned to the airways as a stewardess for two years. After a total of 25 years with TWA she returned to nursing, working as an RN for St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, Calif., retiring after 15 years of service. Later she went into the real estate business with partner, Dorothy Powell, in Fresno, Calif.

Survivors include brother, David Jehnzen, of Reed City, Mich.; niece, Davene Campbell and husband Sherman, of Mich. and Jessica Jehnzen, of Miami, Fla.; nephew, David E. Jehnzen and wife Sarah, of Mich.; great-niece, Kuirsta Carlson and husband Jeff, of Mich.; great-nephew, Aaron Campbell, of Mich.; and 2 great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and her friend and business partner, Dorothy Powell, Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, Ernest and Helen (Walker) Jehnzen preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with the Rev. Richard Triplett officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
