Virginia Lee Esmon Chronister

Virginia L. Esmon Chronister, 76 of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday August 6, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Chronister was born January 15, 1930 to the late Jess and Virgil (Hendrickson) Whitmer in Poplar Bluff and was a member of the Heritage Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, quilting, reading and collecting coffee cups. She was also a volunteer at the Child Concern Center of Butler County.

She was married to Henry Vonda Esmon and later to Franklin Glenn Chronister. They both preceded her in death.

Surviving are 5 children, Avis Lourance of Poplar Bluff; Eugene ""Butch"" Esmon of Paragould, AR; Steven Esmon of Poplar Bluff; Bruce Chronister of Ellsinore and Brian Chronister and wife Carolyn of Campbell; 9 grandchildren, Barbie (Esmon) Vaughn; Chris Lourance; Jeff Esmon; Jason Lourance; Daniel Esmon; Joshua Chronister; Brian Lee Chronister; Jesse Esmon and Crista Chronister; 5 great grandchildren, Hannah Vaughn; Luke Esmon; Noah Esmon; Cayleigh Esmon and Spencer Lourance; one brother, Berdell Whitmer of The Villages, FL and an uncle, Nolan Hendrickson of Long Beach, CA. A son-in-law, Chester Lourance and a sister Bernadine Leach also preceded Mrs. Chronister in death.

Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M., Monday, August 7, 2006 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Richmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
