Virgil W. Warfield

Virgil Woodrow Warfield, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at his residence as the result of a residential fire.

Mr. Warfield was born July 16, 1918, in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Protestant faith and retired from General Motors. Mr. Warfield was also a World War II veteran of the United States Army, where he received four Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his brother, John A. Warfield, of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Greg Gilberto officiating and Sister Lou Hausser assisting. Burial with full military honors will be at Three Springs Cemetery, in Butler County.
