Violet Oneida Burton, 70, of Naylor, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Burton was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Qulin. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Burton enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible, sewing and creating flower crafts.
On March 6, 1954, she married Paul Burton, in Holcomb. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1997.
Survivors include five children, Regina Kay McBroom and Mikel Burton, of Naylor, Jeanette Lewis, of Fredericktown, Gwen Leventry, of Bonne Terre and David Burton, of Poplar Bluff; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Horton, of Crystal Falls, Mich., Pauline Capps, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Millie Stacy, of Vancouver, Wash.; and two brothers, Roger Davis and Jerry Davis, of Fredericktown.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel, with the Rev. Buck Proffer officiating. Burial will be at the Qulin Cemetery, in Qulin.
