Vernon H. Terry

Rev. Vernon H. Terry, 66, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Rev. Terry was born June 11, 1941, in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Fellowship Southern Baptist Church; and was a retired minister as well as a retired graphic illustrator. Rev. Terry had also retired from the United States Navy having served his country for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and music and art.

On May 23, 1961, he married Evelyn Marie Pennington, in Andover, Kans. She survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Brenda Galinat and husband Dan, of Poplar Bluff; son, Randy Terry and wife Pattianne, of Poplar Bluff; sister, Janice Rowan, of Wellington, Kans.; step-sister, Jan Eikel, of Clarksville, Ark.; several others that called him Dad or Grandpa; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, in Bloomfield with the Rev. Jimmy Gilbert officiating.
