Veda Marie (Hafford) Nagy

Veda Marie Nagy, 90, of Poplar Bluff, MO gained her heavenly wings, Sunday, May 08, 2022.

Veda was born on February 29, 1932, to John “Ed” and Pearl Marie (Hanna) Hafford in Neelyville, Missouri. Veda always joked that since she was born on a Leap Year, only those birthdays counted. She went on to marry James "Jim" Nagy, he precedes her.

Veda attended church at Palace of Praise. She was a gift to everyone she encountered. Veda gave true meaning to the phrases, "light up the room" and "big things come in small packages", because she had such a firecracker personality. She enjoyed reading her bible, gardening, cooking, and scrapbooking. If a friend or family member made it in the newspaper, best believe Veda would cut it out and save it to show off. Veda's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally.

Veda is survived by two daughters, Diane (Larry) Dowd and Janet McGarrity; one sister, Beth Ann Withrow; three grandchildren, Angela Moore, Beth Gilmore, and CJ (Michelle) Million; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor, Levi, Kera, Leah, Bridget, Emily, and Cole; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Debra "Debbie" Ann Million; one brother, Paul Hafford; one sister, Lovella Shively.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 1:00-3:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 3:00pm with Pastor Kent Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Black Creek Cemetery.
