Thomas Edward Scott, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Scott was born April 21, 1918, in Butler County. A member of the First Church of God since 1953, Mr. Scott was a retired self-employed mechanic, and a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things and hunting.
On Dec. 24, 1938, he married Lorene Tibbs, in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Joyce Louise Goodrum, of Poplar Bluff; sons, James Edward Scott, of Farris, Tex. and Thomas Eugene Scott, of Arnold; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Prater, of Fredericktown; and brother, Grover D. Scott, of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with the Rev. Richard Triplett officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
