Thelma (Thomas) Walker

Thelma Walker, 88, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, entered the Gates of Heaven dancing and praising her Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Walker was born March 20, 1934, in Portageville, Missouri to Harry Sr. and Willie Lee Randall Thomas.  She was a member of Loving Jesus Ministries and was a homemaker.

She was the proud mother of nine children, seven of who mourn her passing: Jo Margaret (John) Hale, of Leesburg, Virginia, Edna Jean Young, Howard Brown, twins Kenny Lee Thomas and Kathy Lee Thomas, Jacquelyn Jackson and fiancée Robert English, and Carolyn Kay Thomas (Aimee), all of Poplar Bluff; 28 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin Charles Walker; two children, Sherley Ann Harley, and Ronnie Thomas; seven sisters, Erma Jean Wade, Lucille Johnson, Velma Neal, Maggie Thomas, Jimmie Payne, Rosetta Williams, and Jessie Clark; and three brothers, John Henry Thomas, Harry Thomas Jr., and Leslie Thomas.

Visitation will begin at 10 am Friday, May 27, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will follow at 11 am in the Chapel with her son, Elder Kenny Lee Thomas officiating.  Burial will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.  Repass will immediately follow the burial at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Dining Hall.
