Steven Douglas Moffitt, 54, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Monday, December 04, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Steven was born on May 21, 1969, to Marion Don and Judith (Siebert) Moffitt in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He married Paula Smith on May 05, 1990, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Steven grew up in Poplar Bluff and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1988. Immediately following his graduation, he joined the Missouri Army National Guard and served for eighteen years. During his time with the National Guard, he served an eighteen-month tour of duty in Iraq. Steven also had a career with Ingram Barge for twenty years as Senior Mate.

Steven was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a kindhearted and giving person. If there was a need, he would go above and beyond to help in any way he could. Steven enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a very talented woodworker, creating many one of a kind pieces. His best friend throughout life was his brother, Mike. Steven's proudest title was Papa and his grandkids had him wrapped around their fingers. He will truly be missed.

Steven is survived by his wife, Paula Moffitt; mother, Judith Moffitt; two daughters, Sommer Moffitt, and Morgan (Brent McCain) Moffitt; brother, Michael (Leonda) Moffitt; three grandchildren, Koby, Camryn, and Klay Don McCain; two nieces, Shaley Smith and Jordyn Meury; nephew, Justin Moffitt; great niece, Wren Meury; great nephew, Noah Meury; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Marion Don Moffitt; godmother, Marita Cates; and close friend, Lester Ray.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8th, 2023, from 5:00-7:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church with Father Daniel Robles officiating. The burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery with full military honors present.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
