Stanton Charles Irby, 88, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Cypress Point Nursing home on December 19, 2024. Mr. Irby was born January 20,1936, in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of the Bluff Church. He retired from Noranda Aluminum and in his younger years he worked for Northrop Grumman where he participated in working on many of the Apollo Space Missions. Mr. Irby loved spending time with his wife and family and enjoyed visiting with all the grandkids and great grandkids over the years. On August 30th, 1959, he married Thelma Jean Porter also of Poplar Bluff.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Turner and husband Bill, Jamie Gilmore and husband David; four grandchildren, Trey Gilmore and wife Katy, William Turner lll and wife Kayla, Emily Copeland and husband Jordan, Vivian Crites and husband David; great grandchildren, Rylee Gilmore, William Turner lV, Samuel Turner, Lydia Copeland, Lillian Crites, Dallas Copeland and Solomon Crites.
Mr. Irby was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Irby; parents Myron Irby and Anna Miller; brother, Clayton Irby, and nephew Douglas Irby.
A private family service will be held at 10am on January 2nd, 2025, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Bill Turner officiating.
