Shelby Jean Vert

June 18, 1940 — February 7, 2008

Shelby Jean Vert, 67, of Wappapello passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at her residence.

Mrs. Vert was born July 18, 1940, in Butler County. She was a member of Lakeland Assembly of God Church, and had previously worked as a day care and factory worker. Mrs. Vert enjoyed quilting, drawing and painting, hiking, fishing and ice and roller skating.

On June 5, 1959, she married Charles LeRoy Vert, Sr., in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Angela Von and husband Al, of Romeoville, Ill., Pamela Ann Fordyce and husband Paul, of Highland, Ind. and Crystal LeVon Boerner and husband Mike, of Hammond, Ind.; a son, Charles LeRoy Vert, Jr. and wife Cheryl, of Hammond, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Crawford, of Fisk and Marilyn York, of Bernie; and a brother, Jerry Crews, of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday at Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lakeland Assembly of God Church, on Hwy D, at Wappapello with Rev. Arvin Haynes officiating. Burial will be at Kinsey Cemetery, in Butler County.
