Shelby Joy Johnson

Shelby Joy Johnson, 65, of Wappapello died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 4, 1942, in Dodgeville, Wisc. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, and had retired from the Delphi Division of the General Motors Co. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed shopping, collecting angels and growing flowers and having a vegetable garden.
On Dec. 28, 1996, she married Garland Johnson, in Athens, Ala. He survives.
Other survivors include four children, Sheryl Scalissi and husband John, of Verona, Wisc., Robert Machgan, of Minneapolis, Minn., and David Machgan and wife Brenda and Daniel Machgan, both of Milton, Wisc.; three stepchildren, Lora Whitenberg and husband John, of Couch, Mo., Mark Johnson and wife Debbie, of Jackson, Mo. and Lisa Blackburn and husband Ron, of Sikeston, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Banfield and husband Ed, of Cuba City, Wisc. and Janet Esch, and husband Dave, of Ridgeway, Wisc.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Juanita (Woolsteenholme) Chapman, son, Richard, brother, Dale, and two sisters, Kristine and Shirley.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Wappapello Chapel with the Rev. Dean Medlin officiating. Burial will be at Cave Springs Cemetery, in Couch, Mo.
