Sam Osborn

Sam N. ""Sonny"" Osborn, 71, of rural Poplar Bluff, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008.

Mr. Osborn was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Butler County. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center, and had retired as a highway construction heavy equipment operator. Mr. Osborn enjoyed spending time with his family, church activities, being outdoors and being followed by his little dog, Shadow.

On April 5, 1958, he married Renie Killian, in Butler County. She survives.

Other survivors include his son, Shane Osborn and wife Robin, of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren, Joshua Osborn and Mikayla Osborn, of Poplar Bluff; sister, Verla Greer, of Poplar Bluff; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, Sam and Bertha (Davidson) Osborn, and sisters, Thelma Hillis, Leona Martin and Vera Sheehy preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Service, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Kneir officiating and the Rev. Brian Sharp and the Rev. David Thomas assisting. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
