Ruth Evelyn (Mills) Pemberton

Ruth Evelyn Pemberton, 92, a long-time resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, completed her earthly journey, Monday, July 25, 2022, in Poplar Bluff.

Ruth was born February 13, 1930, in Rector, Arkansas to Edgar and Gertie Kreigle Mills. She attended Second Baptist Church and had retired in 1993 from Walmart. She enjoyed decorating the inside of her home for Christmas and making a large variety of cookies and candies for her family and friends.

On May 26, 1979, she married Vernon Eugene Pemberton, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children, Anderson ‘Andy’ Corder and wife Michelle of Republic, Missouri and Sandra Johnson and husband Ben of Trenton, Ohio: 10 grandchildren, Adam Corder, Amanda Boyd, Ashley Allen, AyeJay Johnson, Brooklyn Wideman, Helena Baker, Jason Iliadis. Lisa Albers, Steve Iliadis and Timothy Williams; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Roy C. Williams, Sr., and Aye F. Corder; four children:  Shirley Wallace, Phillis Williams, Roy C. Williams, Jr., and David L. Williams: her parents, Edgar and Gertie Mills; and a brother, Harold (Evaughn) Mills.

A graveside service will begin at 1:30 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
