Ruth Iona Andrews, 82, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday August 6, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Andrews was born September 15, 1923 to the late John Newt and Myrtle Nora (Helton) Stage. She was a retired nurse and homemaker. Mrs. Andrews was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church and enjoyed working in her church, cooking for her family and flower gardening.
On July 30, 1939 she married Albert Andrews, in Wappapello. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2005.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Sharon Marchbanks and Karen Stout and husband Darrell; 2 sons, Albert ""Buck"" Andrews, Jr. and wife Reva and Rev. Don Andrews and wife Donna, all of Poplar Bluff; are 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and one sister Lora Burkeen of Poplar Bluff. Two grandsons, Jason Andrews and Greg Marchbanks; three sisters, Elsie Estes, Dorothy Friday and Mabel Conner Doan; and one brother Orville Stage also preceded Mrs. Andrews in death.
Visitation will be at 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church on Highway W and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the church with the Rev. Don Andrews and Rev. Jim Morgan officiating. There will also be a special guest speaker, Jerlene Elledge. Burial will be in the Old Oak Hill Cemetery.
