Ruby Jewell (Scates) Templemire

Ruby Jewell Templemire, 96, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Arcadia Health & Rehab in Pensacola, Florida, with her daughter by her side.

Ruby was born on December 30, 1927, to William and Cleada (Stucker) Scates in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She married Harry Templemire on August 03, 1947, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, after his return from WWII.

Ruby and Harry farmed and raised Herford cattle just outside of Rombauer for 38 years. After his passing in 1985, Ruby continued to manage the farm. She also spent her time volunteering at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center for 22 years.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Nola Templemire of Pensacola, Florida, along with Nola's lifelong best friend, and Ruby's regarded daughter, Rima (Del) DeFord of Marske-by-the-Sea, UK.

Anyone wishing to remember Ruby may make memorial donations to the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center of Poplar Bluff.
