Roy Allen Elliott, 73 years, 3 months, and 13 days of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away January 11, 2022, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri under the care of Legacy Hospice.
Roy was born in La Grande, Oregon on September 29, 1948, to Eugene and Letha Elliott.
Roy attended East Dogwood & Skyline Elementary Schools, as well as Ava High School. Another son of a sawmill man, Roy worked the sawmill, cut timber, and hauled logs like the other Elliott boys did. He later worked at Gates Tire, did concrete, drywall, and carpentry work. He served his country in the United States Army from June 1967 to January 1969 with a long tour in the Vietnam War. He liked watching Fox News and The Weather Channel. He enjoyed completing word search puzzles, admiring deer in the field, and going deer hunting. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Roy is survived by two daughters, Meredith Arjes of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Rebecca Elliott of Harmon, Illinois; one brother, Don (Jayme) Elliott of Mansfield, Missouri; two sisters, Virginia (Paul) Bell of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Juanita Harwell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; three grandsons, Andrew Schoop, Nathan Arjes, and Cody Elliott; one great-grandson, Carson Schoop all of Illinois; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Letha; one sister, Joann Woodard; three brothers, Richard, Dwight, and Kenneth Elliott.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, at 11:00AM at Evans Cemetery with full military honors. The cemetery is located in Douglas County, Missouri on Hwy 14, 17 miles east of Ava and 17 miles south of Norwood.
