Robert "Bob" Greer

Robert “Bob” Gene Greer, 71, of Poplar Bluff passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Bob was born November 6, 1949 to John Mars and Mamie Silkwood Greer in Poplar Bluff.  He and Vicky Thomas were married January 13, 1984 at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Bob made Vicky laugh.  He had a way of making everyone laugh.  He won her heart with his wit and kept it with the love he shared with her daily.

Bob led Greer Construction until his retirement in 2008, completing many successful commercial and residential projects.  Building and dedicating himself to the needs of others was not a profession for Bob, it was his nature and a reflection of his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He led with a servant’s heart in the countless ways he met the needs of his aging parents, his family, his church, and his community.  Bob was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

In addition to his loving wife, Bob is survived by three children, Lindsey (Anthony) Gilberto of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Andrea (Josiah) LaTrasse of Poplar Bluff, and Ryan (Jami) Greer of Navarre, Florida; five grandchildren, Addison and Noah Gilberto of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Graydon LaTrasse of Poplar Bluff and Emma and Mia Greer of Navarre, Florida; and five siblings, John (Sherry) Greer of Guntown, Mississippi, Ron (Tanya) Greer of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jim (Mary) Greer of Wheaton, Illinois, Roger (MariAnne) Greer of Poplar Bluff and Nancy (Tim) Pence of Liberty, Missouri.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 11 AM until time of service at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will be at 1 PM with Rev. Brandon Spain officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
