Robert Allen Nelson

Robert Allen Nelson, 86, of Poplar Bluff, MO, went to be with his Lord Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Robert was born Nov. 4, 1934, in Poplar Bluff to John B. and Mable Pearl (Aden) Nelson.  He was a member of Palace of Praise. At the age of 19 Robert enlisted into the US Navy, where he served three years and 11 months during the Korean Conflict.  After many years of service, he retired from Doctors Regional Medical Center as a Medical Technician.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and going to church.

Robert married Barbara Allen Hamm on Oct. 2, 2004, in Poplar Bluff.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Robert Michael Nelson of Poplar Bluff, John Stephen (Denekia) Nelson of Sikeston, and Kevin Allen (Rose) Nelson of Jefferson City; a sister-in-law Madonna Richmann and her husband the Rev. Donald Richmann of Poplar Bluff; a stepson Alan Faraone also of Poplar Bluff; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald G. Nelson and two stepchildren, James Aaron Faraone and Deborah Kay Faraone Livingston.

A visitation will begin at 1 pm Friday at Palace of Praise with the funeral service following at 2 pm.  Pastor Kent Miller will officiate.  Burial with full military honors will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
