Retired USAF/TSGT Rex Ellis Titus, 66 passed away on November 11, 2024, at his home in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Rex was born on September 29, 1958, to Gerald and Wyzetta (Gaunt) Titus in Pikeville, Kentucky. He joined the United States Air Force after his high school graduation in 1976 and spent 20 years stationed in various places including Germany. After the Air Force, Rex spent many years working for Briggs and Stratton until his retirement. On June 12, 2001, he married the love of his life, Vickie Vantrease, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

He was awarded several medals during his time as a serviceman, including the Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal to name a few. Rex was a firm believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Rex was known for cracking jokes and bringing a smile to the faces of those around him. He was kindhearted and giving, never seeming to complain much about his own troubles.

Rex is survived by his son, Rex Benjamin “Ben” Titus; two sisters, Vickie Phillips (David), Renee Gallian (Doug), one brother Cletis Titus (Tammy), thirteen nieces and nephews and thirty-eight great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Vanessa Titus and parents, Gerald and Wyzetta Titus.

A private burial was held at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, where he was laid to rest with his wife.
