Reverend Donald "Don" Edward Lowery

Reverend Donald "Don" Edward Lowery, 87, of St. James, MO passed away on January 31, 2022, at General Baptist Nursing Center in Campbell, Missouri.

Donald was born on December 10, 1934, to Walter and Katherine Lowery in Rolla, Missouri. He married Georgia (Helm) Lowery on June 10, 2000, at Calvary Apostolic Church in St. James, Missouri.

Donald was a member of the United States Army. In 1979, he received his general license with the United Pentecostal Church and later went on to become ordained. He served as pastor at Calvary Apostolic Church for 35 years. Don attended college while pastoring the church. He received his Bachelor’s degree in counseling and Master’s degree in Theology. Don was a pillar in the St. James community. He had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. Don’s life motto and goal was, #1 make it to heaven and #2 to take everyone he could with him.

Donald is survived by his wife, Georgia Lowery; four children, Joe (Brandi) Lowery of Germantown, Tennessee, Esther (Kharey) Wisdom of Tampa, Florida, Kevin (Melissa) Cambron of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Melanie (Reverend Steve) Bender of Florence, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Mackena Lowery, Jonathan (Rylee) Lowery, Quin Wisdom, Kennedy Wisdom, Zachery Cambron, Chloe Cambron, Steven Bender, Matthew Bender; four great-grandchildren, Rose Lowery, Gabrielle Bender, Jackson Bender, Brooklyn Bender.

Donald was preceded in death by his foster parents, Bud & Doll Jergensmeyer; one daughter, Rebecca Lowery; first wife, Patsy Ann Lowery; one brother, Walter Lowery; two sisters, Helen Payne, and Ada Stanley.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 5:00-7:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO.

A second visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 12:00-2:00pm at Calvary Apostolic Church in St. James, Missouri. Funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00pm with Reverend Daniel Buford officiating. Burial will take place at Southard Cemetery.
