Reiko K. (Kamada) Page

Reiko Kamada Page, 91, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Puxico left this earth peacefully to her new home in Heaven on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, surrounded by her children and family at her home.

Reiko, the daughter of Takasuku and Chiyo Kamada, was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan.  She was a member of Highland Church of Christ.  She was a member of the ladies Puhicah Club in Puxico and was a retired food industry business owner.   Reiko took great joy in entertaining visitors and guests and shared her heritage by cooking Japanese dishes, which included her delectable Sushi.  She was also well known for her noodles, pot roast, meatloaf, and banana pudding.  She loved spending time with her children and family, traveling with her daughters, knitting, needlepoint, sewing, quilting, caring for her flowers and plants, and her koi fishpond.

Reiko married her Air Force sweetheart Paul W. Page on Jan. 25, 1952, in Tokyo, Japan.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2003, after having celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her children, Paula Shaw, Carolyn (Dodson) Cravens and Mike (Teresa) Page of Poplar Bluff and Sharon Jeep of St. Louis; grandchildren, Kristen Capps Lohbeck, Patrick Jeep and Miranda Hall of St. Louis, Logan Page of Arkansas and Lance Cravens and Dylan Page of Poplar Bluff; a sister Keiko Kamada; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Reiko also was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Preston M. Shaw, granddog Tyson Shaw, sisters Hediko Walters and Junko Kuji, and brother Minoru Kamada.

Due to Covid-19 concerns, there will be a family-only service on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Elder Dennis Hanes officiating.  A short graveside service will follow at the City Cemetery at  2 pm for close family and friends. Masks are encouraged.
