Ray Daniel Hollis, 44, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hollis was born Oct. 20, 1962, in Poplar Bluff. He was the youngest of seven children. He was a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by the Poplar Bluff School system at Eugene Fields. He attended and graduated from Poplar Bluff Senior High School in 1981 and was a member of the PBHS Marching Band and a member of the concert choir. He attended and graduated from ITT Technical Institute of St. Louis on Sept. 30, 1988, where he majored in electronics. He enjoyed reading as well as collecting and listening to music of all types, especially gospel, classical and jazz. He enjoyed cooking and testing food recipes.

Survivors include his mother, Mary C. Hollis; one sister, Ruther Hollis Miller-Anderson and husband Charles; three brothers, Andrew Hollis and wife Dianne; Dennis Hollis and wife Emma; and James Hollis; his brother-in-law, Fredie Reed Jr. and his friend, Troy Bagby and wife Carla; his aunts, Eletha Small, Mable Tipton and Annie Bell Pierce; nephews, Ferdie Maurice Reed, III; Laron T. Hollis and wife Jessica; Johnny Quentin Miller, Jr. and wife Christy; and Danta Hollis and wife Sharon; nieces, Sherice Simms and Karmel Hollis; and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home chapel with Revs. John McCain and Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
