Polly Jo (Brian) Hurst

Polly Jo (Brian) Hurst, 81, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, December 08, 2023.

Polly was born on February 17, 1942, to William and Avis (Slinkard) Brian in Brownwood, Texas.

Polly was of the Baptist faith and was an active member of Thousand Hills Cowboy Church. She was a strong believer of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Polly was an avid and lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide Football and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Polly was proud of her positions in education over the years, including Hentz Alternative School and Poplar Bluff Middle School. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, and tending to her flower garden. Polly's greatest joy in life was her family. Everything she did was with the intention of helping or providing for her loved ones. ROLL TIDE!!!

Polly is survived by two children, Michael Phillips and Laura Jo (Steve) Conway; one sister, Drenda Casinger; two grandchildren, Leah Conway and Matthew Conway; four great-grandchildren; one niece, Rima DeFord; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Polly was preceded in death by two husbands, Harold Phillips and Ben Hurst; two sisters, Nowata Forres and Joan DeFord; one grandson, Kyle L. Phillips.

Memorial gathering will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Thousand Hills Cowboy Church in Fisk, Missouri. Memorial service will follow beginning at 1:00pm with Brother Kevin Murray.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Thousand Hills Cowboy Church.
