Phillip Wayne Randall

Phillip Wayne Randall, 73, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Barnes Jewish-Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Phillip was born in Poplar Bluff on October 3, 1947, to Carl V. and Leatha (Brown) Randall.

The youngest of ten children, he graduated high school in Rockford, Illinois and subsequently joined the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam from 1967-1968.

Phillip serviced for over twenty years in the United States Army as well as the Missouri National Guard.  Before his retirement from the service, he served in Germany, Vietnam, South Korea, and Panama, as well as numerous places in the United States.

Phillip was married to, the former, Sharron Poole from 1969 until 1982.  Their only child, Heath, was born in 1971.  They remained amicable and friendly.

In 1993, he married his beloved Patricia James, and they enjoyed many years together until her untimely death on December 1, 2017.

Phillip was a gifted carpenter, who along with his brothers, Ed, and Virgil, built many businesses and homes throughout southeast Missouri.

Phillip enjoyed bowling, playing pool, gardening, and watching Cardinals baseball with his devoted nephew, Mike Gowen.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Margaret, Edna, Bonnie, Louise, Virginia, and Lola; a stepfather, Hughes Cattron and a stepmother, Hazel (Pinkston) Randall.

Survivors include his son, Heath Randal and Amanda Young of Arnold, Missouri; two stepsons, Gary and Michell Wren of Jackson, Missouri, and Ronnie Wren of; a stepdaughter, Angie James; two brothers, Virgil Linda Randall of Poplar Bluff and Ed and Pat Randall of Williamsville; a sister, Dorothy Carleen Gowen of Poplar Bluff, and his former wife, Sharon Randall of Mobile, Alabama.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 10 AM until time of service at Willow Ridge Funeral and Cremation Center.  Funeral service will be at 11 AM, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.
