Peggy Lou Hillis, 80, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at her residence.
Mrs. Hillis was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Poplar Bluff to the late John and Martha (Mangrum) Kliensorge. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Hillis enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening and reading.
On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Arthur T. Hillis, in Piggott, Ark. He survives.
Other survivors include son Ron Hillis and wife Tanya, of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Joe Ward, Jr., Michael Ward, Daniel Hillis and Malia Hillis, three great-grandchildren, Stephanie Ward, Sara Ward and Michael Ward, Jr.; a sister, Loretta Kovach, of Neelyville; a brother, Phillip Kliensorge, of Baldwin; and a niece, Janice Crook and two nephews, Mickey Kovach and Alan ""Butch"" Kovach, who she helped raise.
Two daughters, Sandra Hillis and Martha ""Suzy"" Ward also preceded Mrs. Hillis in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 9 p.m. tonight at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
