Ozelle Robertson Layne

Ozelle Robertson Layne, 88, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Layne was born May 20, 1918, in Tiptonville, Tenn. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a retired beauty operator. Mrs. Layne enjoyed spending time with her family, talking on the telephone, cooking and reading.

On March 15, 1935, she married Jack Robertson. He preceded her in death. On Feb. 20, 1960, she married Harold Layne, in Covington, Tenn. He survives.

Other survivors include five sons, Bobby Jack Robertson, of Nixa, Mo., Jerry Guthrie Robertson, of Bartlett, Tenn., Michael Lynn Robertson, of Cedar Hill, Mo., Donnie Ray Robertson, of Collierville, Tenn. and Jack Vernon Layne, of Garland, Tex.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Elise Gann, of Columbus, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel, with Mr. Glen Burse officiating. Entombment will be at the Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, in Poplar Bluff.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Tennessee Children's Home, P.O. Box 10, Spring Hill, Tenn. 37174-0010.
