Osa E. Armstrong

Osa E. Armstrong, 96, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, June 25, 2007 at her residence.

Mrs. Armstrong was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Fairdealing. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and had retired from the Weil-Kelter Garment factory. Mrs. Armstrong enjoyed spending time with her family, making quilts and embroidering.

On Dec. 25, 1933, she married Ralph D. Burgett, in Patton, Mo. He preceded her in death in Aug. of 1959.

Survivors include a son, George Burgett, of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; and a sister, Audrey Bradley, of Longview, Tex.

Her parents George Ezra and Mary Ellen (Slinkard) Walpole, a son, James Robert ""Jim Bob"" Burgett and two brothers, Chester Walpole and Cecil Walpole also preced Mrs. Armstrong in death.

Visitation will be from 9 - 11 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Retired Air Force MSgt. George Burgett and Navy Lt. Robert Burgett officiating. Entombment will be at the Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, in Poplar Bluff.
