Norma Jo (Cletcher) Martin

Norma Jo Martin, 89, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Norma Jo was born on October 21, 1931 to Virgil and Faye Cletcher in Marion, Illinois. She married Iven Glenwood Martin in 1948.

Norma Jo was the eldest of eight children and felt very maternalistic towards her younger siblings. She was a member of Twin Springs Baptist Church. She attended beautician school at Ozark Beauty Academy where she later became an instructor. She also worked at Carter County State Bank in Van Buren as well as Summersville State Bank. Norma Jo enjoyed gardening, taking family photos, and gospel music. She loved The Lord and her family.

Norma Jo is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Mark) McCurter of Poplar Bluff and Deborah "Debbie" Martin of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Glenda (Bill) Campbell of Van Buren and Mina (Bob) Murphy of Van Buren; two brothers, Gayle (Chris) Cletcher of Fremont, MO and Ronald "Ronnie" Cletcher of Ellsinore, MO; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma Jo was preceded by her parents; husband; one sister, Wilma Sanders; two brothers, Bill (Norma) Cletcher and Stanley Cletcher.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 9:30AM-11:00AM at Cotrell Chapel.

Funeral services will follow starting at 11:00AM with officiating by Reverend Roger Mayo. Burial will take place at Van Buren City Cemetery at 1:00PM following services.
