Norma Brummett

Norma Brummett, 108, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at The Manor, in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Brummett was born May 28, 1899, in Bernie. She was a member of the Cathedral Ministries, in Orange Calif., and was a homemaker. During her earlier years she had worked as a welder for the Defense Plant. Mrs. Brummett enjoyed cooking, and buying and reselling merchandise and homes that she refurbished.

She was married to Fred H. Rush. He preceded her in death. She later was married to Lawrence Brummett. He also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Ransom Earl Rush, of Swansboro, NC; nine grandchildren, Chad Rush and wife Dolly who were her caregivers, Jim Rush and Kurt Rush and wife Angie, all of Poplar Bluff, Candy Battson and husband Donnie, of Swansboro, NC, Normandy Keith, of Orange, Calif., Dana Wilson and husband Gary, of Texas, Jeff Duncan, of Washington, Mary Ann Lesson and friend Farmer, and Mary Sue Jones, all of Kellyton, Ala.; and many friends.

Her parents, Curt and Lutisha (Welty) Adkins, sister, Mary Sue Barnes and two brothers, Chester Rush and Fred Rush also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be at Qulin Cemetery.
