Mildred O. ""Mickey"" Hicks, 86, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hicks was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Butler County. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Poplar Bluff where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, secretary of Sunday School and a member of the Relief Society. During her earlier years, Mrs. Hicks worked as a salesperson in the piece goods department at Newberry's. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, sewing and putting puzzles together.
On March 25, 1942, she married Edward Leo ""Pete"" Hicks, in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Edward L. Hicks II, and Donald Hicks, both of Poplar Bluff; 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Ina Pearl Bacon, of Washington State; and her brother, Robert Myrant, of Colorado.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
