Melissa Mae (Moore) Fitzwater

Melissa Mae Fitzwater, 59, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at her home.

Melissa was born on August 2, 1964, to Bobby and Dot (Ferrell) Moore in Hayti, Missouri. She married William "John" Fitzwater in 1987, in Butler County, Missouri.

Melissa was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed traveling and visiting new places, but her favorite place to be was on the beach. Melissa liked to fish, go on adventures, and ride the trike with John. Her greatest joy in life was loving on and spending time with her grandbabies.

Melissa is survived by her husband, John Fitzwater; mother, Dot Smith; two sons, Josh (Amanda) Fitzwater and Dustin (Breyanna) Fitzwater; brother, Steve (Andrea) Moore; nine grandkids, Madison, Kendall, Ruger, Erik, Wyatt, Layne, Kayden, Dusty Jr, and Skyla Mae; nephew, Tristen; nieces, Mia and Jess; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Moore; brother, Bobby Don Moore; Granny Brent.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Breast Cancer Foundation.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
