Maudie M. Maddux

Maudie M. Maddux, 100 years of age, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at her residence.

Mrs. Maddux was born Feb. 19, 1907, in Piggott, Ark. She was of the Baptist faith and attended services until she was disabled. Mrs. Maddux worked at Lucy Lee Hospital and her love for children led her to work at the Diagnostic Clinic. She was also a member of the Grandmother's Program for local schools. Mrs. Maddux enjoyed quilting, crafting and raising flowers.

On March 18, 1922, she married Earnest Maddux. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1987.

Survivors include children, Jesse Maddux and wife Joyce, of Carmichael, Calif., Claudia Vineyard and husband Dale, of Wellington, Ohio, Pansy Aud and husband Carl, Norman Maddux and wife Alma, Almira Vinson and husband James and Carolyn Moore and husband Ron; daughter-in-law, Margie Maddux; and sister, Dorothy Patterson, all of Poplar Bluff; 18 grandchildren, a large number of great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her parents, Louis and Ida (Sedrick) Martin, daughter, Flossie Wilson and son, Mark Maddux also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Aud officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
