Mary Evelyn VanDyke, 90, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Puxico Nursing Home. She was born September 24, 1930, to Norman and Nelle Hartman Holland. She was formerly employed at H.W. Gossard and as house manager at Haven House. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
She married Emit E. VanDyke May 10, 1947; he preceded her in death August 5, 2000.
Surviving are six children: Kathy (Larry) Pierce, Linda Surber, Ruth Ann (Dale) Marler, Maureen Schoor, all of Poplar Bluff; Nancy (Louis) Duke of Puxico, and Philip (Vicki) VanDyke of Bellevue, Nebraska; ten grandchildren: Laura (Brad) Bernet, Mark (Andrea) Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Steven (Halley) Pierce, Jennifer Surber, Amy Surber, Jason Duke, Dr. Megan (Dr. Matthew Hidy) Schoor, Gabi (Mike) Green, and Sara VanDyke; six great-grandchildren: Ethan Bernet, Jack and Sam Pierce and J’Sean, J’Vaun, and Traevion Green, and extended family.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 10-11AM at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral following at 11AM with Tom Aden officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association.
