Mary Louise Sparks

Mary Sparks, 83 of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, August 10, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Sparks was born February 15, 1924 in Bessmer, Ala. to the late Henry Grady and Lela (Watkins) Watson. She was retired from Western Electric in Montgomery, Ill. Mrs. Sparks is a member of the Living Word Baptist Church and enjoyed activities at her church and also enjoyed crocheting. She was the happiest among family and friends.

On May 12, 1945 she married Curtis Sparks in Alabama and he preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2000 after almost 55 years of marriage.

Surviving are two children, Ronald D. Sparks of Poplar Bluff and James D. Sparks and wife Grace of Virginia; two grandchildren, Dawn M. Sparks of Oswego, Ill, and Stephanie Lynne Sparks of Cape Girardeau. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, husband and five brothers. Mrs. Sparks will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Living Word Baptist Church on Township Line Road. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Living Word Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Emmons and Rev. David Groves officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
