Marita Ann (Hayman) Wilson

Marita Wilson, 86, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Monday, March 08, 2021 at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation in Poplar Bluff.

Marita was born on October 27, 1934 to Jesse and Katie (Clemons) Hayman in Harviell, Missouri.  She married James O. Wilson on July 16th 1955, in St. Louis, MO.

Marita was a long time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She graduated from Sunnydale Adventist Academy in 1952. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Anytime she could have a good laugh or conversation she was happy. She was also an avid reader.

Marita is survived by three daughters, JoAnna (Rodney) Barker of Poplar Bluff, Karen Lynne Wilson of Springfield, VA, and Rita Marie (Durell Dean) Ferguson of Independence, MO; five grandchildren, Derek Dean, J.W. (Katie) Starkey, Ashley Wilson, Brock Starkey, Stacy (Jeff) Cole; two great grandchildren, Spencer Starkey and Ian Johnson; one sister, Linda Lee Franklin of Fairfax, VA; one brother, Roger (Betty) Hayman of Fairdealing, MO; many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews; and long time special friends Hazel Kinder, Mary Kirkley and Sandy (Gerald) Hughey.

Marita was preceded by her parents, husband, and her only son, J. Michael Wilson.

Graveside service will be on Friday, March 12th, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff with officiating by Pastor Kolby Beem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
