Marcella Bernice Bennett, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Bennett was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Chaonia, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith, and had retired from the Ford Motor Company World Headquarters, in Dearborn, Mich. In earlier years, Mrs. Bennett worked at the Ford Bomber Plant during World War II and later at Argus Camera Company. She enjoyed bowling and sewing.
On Oct. 4, 1947, she married William C. Bennett, in Detroit, Mich. He survives.
Other survivors include sisters, Louise Naber, of St. James and Nellie Franklin, of Puxico; brothers, Marvin Hale and wife Joy and Lyman Hale and wife Sylvia, all of Wappapello; his nephew and caregivers, Keith Hale and wife Donna, of Poplar Bluff; and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Talmage and Esther (Holiday) Hale, sisters, Alma Faries and Mildred Perkins, and brothers, Paul Hale, Alvie Hale and Allen Hale preceded Mrs. Bennett in death.
The visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. James Huffman officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Butler County.
