Lyle Jett

Lyle Jett, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, entered Heaven’s gates Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at his home.

Lyle was born June 25, 1937, in Poplar Bluff to Harve Frank and Nona Ruth Robertson Jett. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School, he started working as a parts man for Lewis Miller Implement Company. This career took him on a journey for over 50 years as time passed with new owners Vernon Implement Company, Phil Phelps Trust Center and upon his retirement as Duckett Truck Center. He also served in the Missouri Army National Guard from 1955 to 1963. Lyle enjoyed gardening, recycling, being a handyman and pestering his sister-in-law Lou. His greatest joy was serving his Lord and Savior and spending time with his family.

On July 21, 1962, Lyle married the love of his life Carolyn JoAnn “Jo” Phillips in Quincy, Illinois.  She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Allen (Annita) Jett and Curtis Jett of Poplar Bluff, and Scott (Kim) Jett of Quincy, Illinois; four granddaughters, Mary Jett, Maggie Jett, Taylor Jett and Madison Maple; and a brother Jerry (Judy) Jett of Paragould, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Renda Clark.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will begin at 10 am Wednesday at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel with Rev. Byron Beck officiating.  Prior to burial a 'Final Salute0 will take place as the procession drives by John J. Pershing VA Hospital. Interment with full military honors will be at Black Creek Cemetery.
