Lydia Mae Vinson, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Vinson was born March 1, 1922, in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Gossard Garment Factory. Mrs. Vinson loved to be in her own home; gardening and growing flowers.
On July 16, 1939, she married Leonard L. Vinson. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Sue Harwell, of Poplar Bluff and Linda Mae Hathaway, of Cape Girardeau; a son, Gary Lee Vinson, of Broseley; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alma Pegouskie, of Willis, Mich., Allene King, of Gaithersburg, Md. and Lorretta Tate, of Monte Vista, Colo.; four brothers, James A. Vinson and Howard E. Vinson, both of Poplar Bluff, Ted Romine, of Fruitvale, Tex. and Buddy Romine, of Niles, Mich.; her aunt, Wanda Holloway, of Haysville, Kans.; two uncles, Paul Snider, of Pacific and Everett Snider, of Romulus, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Mrs. Vinson was preceded in death by her father, Ray Romine, mother, Elva (Snider) Romine Vinson, and son, Leonard Eugene Vinson, in 1942.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel, with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery, in Broseley.
