Poplar Bluff, Missouri

Lucinda "Cindy" B. Kelley, 83, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Cindy was born on April 8, 1940, to Andrew and Catherine (Lynch) O'Callaghan in Port Chester, New York. She married Charles "Pete" Kelley on January 17, 1959, in Newport, Rhode Island.

Cindy was a devote Catholic and an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Poplar Bluff for 50 years. She enjoyed fishing with Pete in her younger years, and also liked to camp and spend time outdoors. Cindy was a proud supporter of her community and contributed through a small business, “Kelley's Market” in Wappapello. She was a hard worker for most of her life but became a content housewife in her later years.

Cindy is survived by two children, Chris (Kathy) Kelley and Barbara (Rusty) Nagle; two grandchildren, Nikki (Christian) Chmiel and Justin Castleberry; five great-grandchildren, Lily, Sophie, Tark, Addy, and L.J.; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles "Pete" Kelley; two sisters, Mary Kay Hoose and Patty Rice.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Cindy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School of Poplar Bluff.
