Lois Belle Sexton

Lois Belle Sexton, 90, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died July 20, 2007 in Troy, Mo. Mrs. Sexton was born January 27, 1917 in Parma, Mo. to the late Addison and Grace (Sanders) Stewart. She had worked at Mickey's Cleaners and retired from the Holiday Inn in Hazelwood, Mo.

Mrs. Sexton was a member of the Ferguson Nazarene Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting and reading the Bible.

On January 28, 1935 she was married to Kenneth Eulas Sexton and he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1977.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Shepherd of Troy; two sons, Donald Sexton and wife Lilly of Poplar Bluff; Wilbur Sexton of Warrenton; two sons-in-law, Edmund Shepherd of O'Fallon and James Vaughn of Cyril, OK; one sister Mary Bulger of Harviell and one brother Thomas Stewart of Overland; seventeen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Sexton in death were her parents; two infant children, two daughters, Shirley Vaughn and Doris Shepherd, one son Mickey Sexton, one son-in-law, Russel Shepherd, one sister, Ruby Borders; three brothers, George Stewart, Russel Stewart and Carl Stewart, two grandsons and one great-grandson.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Udell Moss officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
