Lloyd J. Mondy

Lloyd J. Mondy, 89, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Cedargate Healthcare.

Lloyd was born on July 20, 1934, to Miles and Flora (Baysinger) Mondy in Fisk, Missouri. He married Norma May (Casey) on May 02, 1953, in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Lloyd was a long-time attendee of Fellowship General Baptist. He was a Korean War veteran in the United States Navy. Lloyd was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a big supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Lloyd was an educator for 25 years. He served as a principal for multiple school districts and ended his career as Superintendent of Naylor R-II Schools. Lloyd also refereed basketball in Southeast Missouri for many years.

Lloyd is survived by three children, Malia Mondy, Keith (Lin) Mondy, and Kirk (Carol) Mondy; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Barker and sister-in-law, Lois Mondy.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Norma May Mondy and numerous siblings.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 11:00-12:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff. Graveside service will follow immediately after at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
