Linda Rhea Venable, 66, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Venable was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Naylor. She had retired as a nurse, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Venable enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and quilting, cross stitching and traveling.
On Feb. 26, 1961, she married Charles Richard Venable, in Lexington Park, Maryland. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1998.
Survivors include seven children, Kimberly N. Burridge and Jeffrey Venable, both of Boonville, Mo., Terry Lynn Venable and Mark Richard Venable, both of Jackson, Mo., Chadd Warren Venable, Charla Renee Keele and Travis Wade Venable, all of Poplar Bluff; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Darlene Hyde Hutchison, of Naylor and Beverly Atkinson, of Columbia, South Carolina.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel with the Rev. Ryan Davis officiating. Burial will be at Gunn Cemetery, off South Hwy B, in Ripley County.
