Lauren Elizabeth Capper, 17, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in Butler County as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Lauren was born Feb. 14, 1991, in Marietta, Georgia. She was a member of the Palace of Praise, in Poplar Bluff, a member of the Church Dance Team and active in the youth ministry. Lauren was a junior at Neelyville High School where she was a member of the school's softball and basketball teams; member of the Drama Club; member of Future Farmers of America and Future Business Leaders of America. She was employed part-time at J.C. Penney. Lauren enjoyed her church, spending time with her family and friends, shopping, talking on the phone and playing basketball and softball.
Lauren is survived by her parents, Elmer and Sheila (Skaggs) Capper, of the home; sister, Tammie Bumpus and husband James Robert, of Poplar Bluff; brother, Carl Capper, of Poplar Bluff ; three nieces, Maryia Powell, Brianna Capper, and Zhoe Bumpus; and grandparents, Hother Hamilton, of Poplar Bluff, Betty Choate, of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and Betty Hanks, of House Springs, Mo.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Palace of Praise, 1400 Herschel Bess Blvd., in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Palace of Praise with the Rev. Kent Miller officiating and the Rev. Josh Reasons assisting. Burial will be at Kerns Chapel Cemetery, in the Stringtown community of Butler County.
