Laura Evelyn Crews

Laura Evelyn Crews age 77, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022. She was born in Poplar Bluff Missouri to Fred and Eva Brooks. She married John Crews on December 27, 1984.

Laura loved cooking for her family & friends, especially ones that were sick. A batch of her potato soup would cure about anything. She loved flower gardening and was always happy to share starts of her plants. She loved traveling, especially to the beach. For her it didn’t get any better than the sand between her toes, watching the sunset & patiently waiting to see the emerald flash on the horizon. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandson, Ben.

Laura retired from the VA Medical Center, after 30 years of service as an RN.

She’s was a lifelong member of The First Church of God.

Laura is survived by her Daughter Stacie (Boyd) Vancil; Grandson Ben Vancil; Sister Mary (Ted) Elledge; Nieces Angie (Greg) West, Teddie Hunsaker, Nannette (Tim) Rippee; 5 Great Nieces; 5 Great Nephews; 1 Great Great Nephew and her beloved cat, Molly.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Crews and sister, Nancy Elledge.
